I know you're reading this on something electronic, be it desktop, laptop, or smartphone. You're either at work, at home, or bored while out at some event. I know you don't spend all your time on dKos or other websites all the time, so...
let's talk games. The ones we all have on our computers and smartphones; the ones that help us while away those minutes waiting for the bus, sitting outside the dressing room while teen-aged girls try on clothes, taking a break at work, or when we're ::cough::indisposed::cough::.
Yeah, those games. What are your favorites?
I've got three on my iPhone at the moment that I really adore:
(1) Flood-It! This game is a bunch of different colored blocks on a grid, and the objective is to "flood" the board all to one color within the allotted number of steps. Rather than describe it, let me show you. It's addictive yet easy to put down if you need to, has multiple levels and modes of play, and is timed juuuust right for when you only have, shall we say discreetly, a couple of minutes. Not that I'd know ::whistles innocently::
(2) Sudoku I don't really have to explain this one, do I? I have two apps on my iPhone, each have their strengths and weaknesses, so depending on my mood I'll use one or the other.
(3) Marble Mash Another great while-you-wait game, this one has you moving a ball around a maze while avoiding holes. Takes concentration and steady hands but is pretty easy.
So fess up - what games are on your machine? Solitaire, Tetris, Word Searches, or something we'd never guess. Inquiring minds are dying to download new games :-).

From JanF:
This comment by NCrissieB in LaFeminista's diary suggests that the Tea Party GOP's strategy is more like evil genius than stupidity: "The one thing most TGOP voices aren't is "stupid." They have a clear vision of society: more wealth and privilege for the wealthy and privileged [...] they market a comprehensive, self-serving worldview that cannot be disproved for those who accept its premises, and convince a substantial minority of Americans, most of whom gain little by that worldview, to support and defend it"
From bronte17:
Timaeus highlights the bubble of ignorance surrounding the number of overseas military bases maintained by the US in TomDispatch's excellent diary Tomgram: Chalmers Johnson, Portrait of a Sagging Empire.
(Chalmers Johnson says the American taxpayer maintains 737 overseas US military bases... excluding secret ones and other garrisons. Overall, Johnson says the actual number is most likely over 1,000 although even the Pentagon probably doesn't know for sure.)

Tirge Caps explains his current state of political mind.
From BlackSheep1:
In Something The Dog Said's diary today, this succinct and pithy description by autoegocrat of the Religious Right rang true.
